All-round role for KTS on prestigious London development

Kingfisher Technical Solutions (KTS) was involved from beginning to end in the delivery of a fully automated parking system in a prestigious residential development in the heart of Mayfair, in London.

The 47-space automated system at No. 1 Grosvenor Square was designed for long-wheelbase luxury vehicles of up to 6.2 metres, accommodating the longest cars of any system KTS has come across in over 20 years in the industry. Entry is at ground level with four basement levels below.

The specification included integrated Electric Vehicle charging with intelligent load-sharing, rapid vehicle retrieval and the high system availability you would expect for such an exclusive development.

Appointed by Lodha UK, KTS started working with their design team to develop the concept and specification for the APS in 2016 and then managed the full formal tender process through to awarding the contract.

Throughout construction, KTS provided comprehensive project management services including project monitoring, payment application reviews, project schedule, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) witnessing and project close out.

Due to the bespoke design of the APS, a full level was installed off-site for carrying out a comprehensive FAT. This approach proved invaluable for system debugging and optimisation, and resulted in reduced site commissioning time.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, KTS carried out the final SAT remotely from its UK office via dedicated CCTV links and secure access to the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) mimic screens.

KTS will be carrying out the Defects Liability/warranty period on-site inspection shortly, illustrating an ability to support clients through the entire development process from concept to completion.
